About Dr Billy Stoupas
Dr. Billy took over the original Oakleigh & Health District Centre in early 2020, leading an extensive renovation and rebranding to create "The General Practitioner." Under his leadership, the clinic has grown into a reputable, fully booked practice with a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and administrative staff.
He began his medical journey at Monash University, earning a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with First Class Honours, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Deakin University. He is a specialist General Practitioner and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Additionally, he was the podcast host for the RACGP's "Generally Speaking" for two years and has made numerous media appearances on outlets such as Channel 7, Channel 9, ABC, and in newspapers like The Age and The Herald Sun.
In the wellness and preventative care space, he is dedicated to helping patients prevent major health issues such as heart attacks, liver disease, and strokes. He regularly conducts executive health checks to promote proactive health management, aiming to help people live long, healthy, and fulfilled lives. His broad expertise includes a Diploma of Child Health from the Royal Children’s Hospital (Melbourne) and a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Box Hill Hospital. Skilled in diagnosing and removing skin cancers, he holds Professional Certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery. Formerly the club doctor for Collegians Football Club in the VAFA league, he is now exploring ways to enhance health by integrating natural and Western medicine.
